Oh dear.  Tired of hearing this in the holidays?  Then, for one day only, here is the answer for you.  Bring the family, the WHOLE family, to what is the Biggest Little Show on Earth – well, in the area.

On August 28th Llangynidr Agricultural Show Society will be holding their annual Show.  This will be their TENTH Show and what an event!!

For those who don’t see many sheep and cattle close up there is a fantastic opportunity to have a good look at these animals.  Can you pick out the differences between the various breeds?  (Don’t worry, you’re not the only one, I too thought a sheep was just a ball of wool with four legs!!)  And cattle, there will be cattle!!  And horses!  There will be dogs.  Will you be able to spot ‘The dog with the saddest eyes’ before the judges?  Will you agree with their choice of ‘Best Six Legs’?  Six legs??  Yes, six!!

There will be hot dogs, burgers, hog roast etc for you to eat and enjoy.  If you look in the Farmers’ and Producers’ Marquee you will find cheeses, pies, bread, craft work, artwork and more.

Look online www.llangynidrshow.org and find a competition class that you can join – Tallest Nettle?  Scarecrow?  Fancy Dress?

Prefer to sit and be entertained?  We’ll have our ‘home grown’ comedian Josh Jones, we’ll have Welsh folk tales told by Angharad Wynne – not bedtime stories for children but Welsh legends and stories for all ages.  Abergavenny Band will be there.  Culture and agriculture!  The main ring will provide a great variety of entertainment all day long and other events will happen in the marquees.

Don’t forget the Garden Show, a Show within a Show, which takes place in the Village Hall.

Oh, the kids would like to be active?  How about quad bikes, a climbing wall, a soft play area for younger children?  We’ll have that and more!

We try to keep the entry costs as low as we can.  Adults £5, children and OAPs £2 under 5’s free!

Set your satnav to NP8 1LS and join us on 28 August!
