Business of the Week: Paw to Palm

Paw to Palm

When I fall in love with one dog, I fall in love with them all. It doesn’t matter a bit if they are descended from a Cruft’s champion or a mixed biscuit – I just love the whole species.

I know that your dog is one of the most important members of your family. In fact, they are probably in charge. And, whilst there is little doubt that you are the most qualified person to be overseeing their exercise and training regimes, due to your social or professional diary, you cannot always be there.

My philosophy is to treat every dog as if it was my own. So while your busy life takes you here, there and everywhere, your family companion is in the best possible hands: being walked by a reliable and responsible walker, playing games, having fun in a field and being part of my extended family.

I live in a rural location near the village of Govilon, I grew up with a farming background on both sides of my family so had a love for animals and livestock at an early age.

I have previously worked in retail, administration, care and support work for the NHS in the learning disabilities and mental health directorate. However, I was still drawn to working with animals and therefore left the NHS to study at College in 2016. I gained experience in animal health, welfare, behaviour and biology through the BTEC level 3 diploma in animal management, and have just completed the national association of pet sitters and dog walking business course.

I am fully licensed through Monmouthshire Council to board dogs over night. Your dog will stay with me and my family in my house and use all of the downstairs as their home. Throughout the day dogs are free to play in my garden and in the paddock which is secure for them to run off the lead and have some social time with each other. Depending on the breed and their routine I tailor exercise to the dogs needs so walks throughout the day would include mountains, fields and canal walks which are all in walking distance so no need to be in and out of a car.
